A 1 logical pixel border will appear sharp and thin on a 3x screen, but blurry and thick on a 1.5x screen (because 1.5 physical pixels don't exist — the system must round and anti-alias). An image provided only at 2x resolution will be slightly blurry on a 3x screen. A misconfigured vector icon can display sub-pixel artifacts at certain densities.
